The company's branch in Aden is located at the eastern end of Al-Mualla District of Aden Governorate, established by virtue of Legal Declaration No. (33) in 1970 on the decision of the Economic Corporation No. (38) 1970 issued on March 1, 1970 and based on the text of Article (5) of the Economic Institutions Law for the Sector and National Planning No. (37) issued on November 27, 1969 AD and the text of Article (1) thereof established a subsidiary of the Oil Authority called (National Oil Company)

• The Council of Ministers Resolution No. (191) of 1990 issued on 5/12/1990 decided to merge the two oil companies in both Aden and Sana'a into one company called the Yemen Petroleum Company and specified its terms of its headquarters, capital and branches in the governorates. The branch is one of the most important and largest branches of the company, as it owns fixed assets, including the small facilities of Aden, which supplies the province of Aden and a number of other governorates and is linked to direct oil pipelines pumped from Aden refineries.
